The dreaded day...

Well, Santiago had his first haircut. I HATED every second of it. The stylist was very nice, but he was horrified and wouldn't let her be out of his line-of-sight, which made for a very uneven cut. But, it's done, and I can safely say that it's going to be a loooooooooong time before it happens again. Dad, that promise is my Christmas gift to you. :)

Here are some pre-cut pictures:

Here are some of during the cut (Note that I was the one holding the screaming child while Papa took pictures and did everything in his power to get his child to stop the bloodcurling screams. Even the bribe of a sugar-packed sucker did nothing.):

Above are actual crocodile tears. :(

Doesn't he look older now? I definitely don't like it.

And his big, cheesy smile! He's so happy it's over with!

This post will have to be fairly short and boring (have a rare date night with the hubby!!!). I hope everyone had as great of a Thanksgiving as we did, and will try to post more soon.

Ciao,

Kate

Pics with my own narrative...

First, a disclaimer - No animals or children were harmed in the taking of these pictures...at least as far as I know. Our wonderful babysitter Sarah and her family (who also happen to be dear friends - and I'm WAAAYYY to young to be calling people dear friends, but that's for another post) had Santiago for a visit at her house in September, so these are old pictures. But, the camera cord is upstairs and Lord knows I'm too lazy to go get it right now, so you get old pictures. I believe you'll survive.

Now, I introduce Santi meeting the animals.

This is the traditional "circling" just like what happens in a boxing ring. SA and the duck are sizing each other up...
This is SA acting like he's not scared..."I've been around a duck twice my size a MILLION times. If I only had a nickle for each time..." is what he said, I believe.
"Huh. Nothing under there. What a rip off."
(Okay, don't rip on me for that one. It was funny. Kinda.)
"Hey, what ever happened to the 'bubble' of personal space??? Apparently you're a close talker."
"Forget the duck. I'm moving on to the BIG animals. The things with horns. See, I've already gained control over the sheep by using my mystical powers."
"AH-HA! The sheep is under my spell! Now I'll eat you...." (Honestly, isn't that just the most possessed face you've ever seen??? It kills me!)

"UH OH! The spell wore off! He's coming for me!"
"Phew! That was a close one! Thank goodness I don't look appetizing. I think it's all the hair." (Side note, the duck has suddenly shrunk and decided to sit on SA's head.)

"I survived a day on the farm! Yep, better get all this animal poop cleaned off me before mom comes, or she'll FREAK!"

Halloween

This is SA in Laughlin, NV, devouring his corn. The kid LOVES him some corn on the cob.

Bath time!

I'm starting this blog to keep friends and family updated on SA and his antics. He is now 15 months old and is a ham! I'll put up a couple pictures from Halloween though no good ones (he was in a mood). I'll try to update regularly!
